“Everything is amazing”, says the comic Louie CK, “and no one is happy!” He could have been referring to the staffing industry alone. We wallow in fears of a recession long since past, employ desultory techniques that belong in the Staffing Smithsonian (do they have one of those, will I get a Wax Figure some day?), and worse, so so much worse, stay lost in a self made obloquy while the world waits for us to wake up….and break out by letting go.

Did you know the bane of the average recruiter’s existence, the cold call….will soon be just one, and not the primary one, of the many “silos” we use for business development/ Remember those dreams you had of people calling you with job orders, and what a wonderful biz it would “If only”….well it’s happening now, and I mean right now, in my office. But you have to 1) understand the seminal changes in our world and zeitgeist 2) what has not changed in the way of basic human behavior and persuasion techniques, and 3) summon the courage to pull the trigger, to come in to your office tomorrow and NOT do the things you already know don’t work. I will take you on a journey of why you hold on to what got you there, how much happier you will be if you let go, and a new daily structure that will create wealth and success that our industry has never seen. I made my mark by mastering the old ways, but by embracing new ways, my office is revitalized, re committed, and reaping all new rewards.

Think of it this way. 20 feet away from you is an Oxford Dictionary. I have had it since I was 11. Every day of my life I open this monstrous tome and pick a word I don’t know. I write it down, use it in a sentence, memorize it. It is a ritual I love. Last year only 1000 Oxford dictionaries were purchased in book stores. The lowest ever! How sad for the publishers, right? Their world has changed, their dreams vanished. Nonsense. Last month alone there were 2 million hits on Oxford’s super cool online version.
