Michael Salmon
Michael Salmon has more than two decades of experience in sales,
marketing, and management, working for both privately held and
Fortune 500 companies. Throughout his career he has focused on
helping people find the work that they most want to do. He refers
to himself as a special kind of "PHD"- passionate, hardworking,
and dedicated.
He served as the director of sales and marketing for Unicco
Service Company, one of the largest privately-held facility
management firms in the country, with revenues of $750 million.
He was also the vice president of marketing for First Security,
the nation's third largest privately-held security company,
which was recently sold to Pinkerton's. Coincidentally, Salmon
started his career at Pinkerton's, where he was the top salesperson
for many years.
Salmon ultimately founded his own search company, Berkshire
Staffing, in which he combined the best practices that he had
identified with the "blue chip service delivery model" that he
had developed over his business career. 'His clients included
Liberty Mutual, John Hancock Financial Services, Hewlett Packard
Company, State Street Bank, and J.P. Morgan Chase.
Salmon eventually sold Berkshire to a major national staffing
organization, in order to focus exclusively on the networking
program that he had been developing. The mission of his organization,
M. Salmon & Associates, Inc., is to deliver 'his unique networking
methodology to the greatest number of people so that they can learn
to build their own lifelong networks. Salmon's networking programs
are being used by many corporations, including Viacom, Fidelity
Capital, New York Life, United Technologies, Uniroyal, CDrive
Corporation, Metratech, and Wildfire Communications.
Salmon is an industry leader on networking and career counseling.
He has a book published by Career Press coming out in the fall 2003
titled SuperNetworking: Reach The Right People, Build Your Career
Network, and Land Your Dream Job-Now! He has been interviewed on
national radio shows, including the USA Radio Network, the KYW-AM
"News," and WBNW-AM's "Business Sense: The Power Lunch." He has
also been quoted in national publications, including USA Today,
featured in Investor's Business Daily Leaders and Entrepreneur
Magazine, and in a September, 2002 syndicated column titled "Expert
Develops Step-By-Step Approach to Networking." Salmon has also
written an article "Harnessing the Power of Networking," which
was published on the Web site and in the annual magazine of the
Northeast Human Resource Association'. Salmon is also a much
sought-after speaker on networking and related subjects.
